A native of Alamance County, Karla began dancing at the age of two under the instruction of Miss Kim, where her lifelong passion for dance first began. She continued her training with several respected studios throughout North Carolina, building a strong technical foundation and a deep passion for the art of performance. Miss Karla also trained extensively in ballet with Miss Kim’s Dedicated Ballet Artistic Director, Miss Anna Zheleznyakova.

Trained in all genres of dance, Karla had a competitive dance career spanning nearly a decade, earning top placements while competing regularly at both the regional and national levels. She is also a former two-time titleholder with Carolina Dance Masters. Her dedication to dance led her to attend Governor’s School of North Carolina, where she furthered her education through intensive study and training in dance.

After high school, Karla attended UNC Charlotte then eventually moved back home to Gibsonville, where she resides with her husband Blake, son Brodie and two dogs, Stella & Winnie. Being able to have the opportunity to work for Miss Kim, the teacher responsible for igniting her love of dance, felt like coming full circle.

Today, Karla serves as Company Director at Miss Kim’s & Miss Kim’s Next Step and is deeply passionate about leading and mentoring dancers to help them discover their highest potential. Karla is committed to fostering confidence, strong technique, artistry, discipline, and teamwork while helping each dancer grow both inside and outside of the studio.
