I am originally from Colombia, where I trained and performed with a local dance academy for five years. During that time, I developed a deep appreciation for folkloric dances from Colombia and across Latin America, which allowed me to connect with and celebrate the rich cultural traditions of our region.
For the past 10 years, I have proudly led the Dance Club at Elon Elementary, where I teach students a variety of Latin rhythms, including salsa, merengue, and bachata. Through dance, I strive to inspire students to appreciate diversity, build confidence, and develop a love for the arts.
I believe that folk and Latin music are powerful tools for cultural learning, helping students gain a deeper understanding of traditions, history, and communities from around the world. My goal is to create meaningful experiences that connect students to culture through movement, music, and celebration.
